Hace un rato terminé de descargar y actualizar el Hardy Heron. Cuando voy a activar los efectos de escritorio, me aparece como unica respuesta "No se han podido activar los efectos de escritorio" sin ninguna explicación de a qué se debe...
Tengo una Hp 500. Tengo instalados y funcionando 915resolution y el i810 ... cuando chequeo la aceleracion grafica me aparecen los engranajes, pero en la otra forma me figura: renderizacion: NO

Donde pone driver "vesa" deberias poner driver "i810" guardar y reiniciar (tienes que abrirlo como root para que te deje guardarlo)

Funcionó de maravillas, excepto por la resolución de pantalla...
Abrí nuevamente el xorg.conf y agregué la resolución de pantalla que quería por defecto ( 1280x800 ) y listo!

instalando envyng
intente instalar el driver de ati envy manual, porque el automatico no me iba, y me cargue las x, luego recupere las x con sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg y ahora en direct rendering me aparace no y antes aparecia yes y mi xorg.conf a cambiado. Ayuda porfavor aunque sea para dejarlo como estaba antes, no se si tendria que instalar algun driver, ni como comprovar si tengo algun driver instalado, lo dicho ayuda gracias.

saludos, tengo una motherboard gama785gm-us2h trae untegrada a la mother hd4200, supuestamente instale los drivers de ATI el ati-driver-installer-9-12-x86.x86_64.run, me instalo ATI Catalyst control center, le doy doble clic para ejecutar o configurar y no hace nada, mi xorg.conf dice:

ME autocontesto, despues de haber instalado el privativo de video lo tuve que desinstalar, desinstale el Catalystic Control center, y reinstale el driver ultimo de la pagina oficial de ATI
Tengo el mismo problema en mi notebook
Hola, tengo una notebook con ATI integrado, el sysinfo me dice que es un chip Radeon Xpress 200M, resulta que baje el ultimo driver para linux de 32bits de la pag. de amd, y me dice:
