Se ven muchas peticiones de ayuda para configurar xorg.conf. Se pierde mucho tiempo, y luego la gente (yo al principio) corta y pega y no se entera de nada, asi que, siguiendo el ejemplo de un gringo en ubuntu.org, creo que no estaria de mas que enseñasemos nuestras configuraciones y nuestro hardware (si van bien).

Abrí un hilo similar, y no tuvo mucho éxito...
Enfín, como, por avería de mi amada FX5200, durante unos días tengo que usar una "rareza", lo pego aquí.
Se trata de una Maxi Gamer Phoenix, PCI, con 16 Mb. No he logrado la aceleración 3d, pero si me va a 1024x768 a 24 bits. Además de configurar la tarjeta, puse un monitor estándar de 1024x768, porque si lo dejaba autodetectar, no pasaba de 800x600.

Yo tengo 2 Tarjetas en SLI y 2 Monitores, completamente soportados a sus maximas resoluciones, un Viewsonic VX2255wm de 1680 x 1050 y un Samsung SyncMaster 551s a 1152 x 864. Mi maquina esta en mi firma.

No es de un avión o un jet privado, pero sí guarda información crítica (para mí, por supuesto). La llamo "La caja negra" porque el gabinete, es un G3 de diseño coreano, robusto pero sencillo. Palpita en su interior:

1.- Un procesador AMD Sempron de 1.8 Ghz.
2.- La placa base ASUS A7S8X-MX con audio ADI SoundMax y video SIS que deshabilité por darle cabida a un nVidia FX5200.
2.- 1 Gb. de RAM Kingston, más que suficiente para mi sistema.
3.- Un disco Maxtor de 160 Gb. de capacidad y dos Western Digital de 40 Gb. C/U., enfriados con un ventilador de CA.

Lo demás, CD y DVD-RAM, ratón, teclado, etc.
