¿Se puede reproducir audio?+Ubuntu 9.04 64 bits

Hace 3 semanas, para ser exacto, migré a Ubuntu 9.04.

Con 4GB de memoria RAM de los cuales sólo reconoce 3.6 después de haber instalado los paquetes headers-server, etc.
Pero eso lo puedo pasar y solucionar luego.

El problema viene en la siguiente líneas.
El audio está activado pero no logro escuchar ruido alguno. He realizado pruebas de sonido sin éxito.
