ayuda para un experimento a ver si así navega rtl 8187L en ubuntu 12.04 en 64 bits

Hola, mucha gente tiene problemas con este chip, a mí en concreto no me conecta, se tira el rato intentando conectar pero no lo hace, y he visto que en versiones más bajas de ubuntu lo han resuelto sustituyendo el archivo que viene en el kernel por el driver de la página de realtek.

Lo que no he encontrado es cómo hacerlo en esta versión, entonces, antes de seguir a ciegas los pasos que han seguido para jaunty me gustaría que alguien con conocmiento revise los pasos para ver si contienen algo que sea exclusivo de esa versión, o en principio parece aplicable a superiores.

Los pasos son los siguientes:

1. sudo rmmod r8187 rtl8187 mac80211 cfg80211
2. sudo mkdir /usr/src/drivers
3. cd /usr/src/drivers

es que me parece que el paquete con el driver rtl8187_linux_26.1010.zip no es para este kernel, sino para anteriores.

Otra cosa que me habría gustado intentar, y no he encontrado en ningún sitio cómo se hace, es probar a poner la antena awuso36h a funcionar en wlan0 en lugar de wlan1 como hace en mi pc.

Por cierto, que he detectado una anomalía que quizá convenga resolver primero por las repercusiones que pueda tener:

Cuando ejecuto iwconfig, dice no wireless conection.

No sé cuáles pueden ser las repercusiones pero me parece muy extraño que sea esa la salida de iwconfig.

Por otro lado en las instrucciones que copias no se descarga ningún controlador de la página de realtek. Los archivos son antiguos pero podrían funcionar.

Hola, perdonad, he estado sin internet, lo de la salida del iwconfig ha sido una falsa alarma, no lo entiendo, pero he vuelto a probarla y ha salido bien, algo raro debí hacer la otra vez, o el sistema estaba por un momento inestable, yo que se, pero ya da una salida normal, la otra vez es que dijo no wireless, en todas las interfaces, ahora ya sí andan algunas.

Tienes razón, la descarga es de aircrak, no de realtek.

Arg, olvidé decir que estoy en 64 bits.

Goyo gracias por tu indicación, si los pasos son correctos, es decir, que en principio no ha cambiado la estructura de los directorios como para que algo vaya mal merece la pena probar, estoy intentando localizar un paquete más actual porque lo que leo por ahi es que cosas que funcionaban en la 10.10 han dejado de funcionar al subir a 11.04.

Ya he descargado el driver para el kernel 3.2.0-23

pero no he conseguido instalarlo, aquí es donde necesito ayuda.

Me he ido a la partición limpia del kernel 3.2.0-23, he podido hacer los pasos de instalación que se detallan en el readme sin errores, y aun así no funciona la antena:

He de decir que esta vez no empecé desmontando el módulo, y por cierto, aunque las instrcciones no lo digan, hay que poner el sudo.

¿Creéis que puede influir tener la red inalámbrica activada o desactivada cuando se hace esto?.

Voy a probar el método 2, si mal no entiendo (corregidme si interpreto mal por favor), el primer paso ya estaría hecho y no hay que repetirlo.

Cuando hago el .wlan0up me dice

./wlan0up: orden no encontrada

¿sabéis si hace falta desmontar y montar el módulo?, es que en el readme no especifica si hay que hacerlo en algún momento concreto.

¿o sabéis si hace falta enchufar la antena en algún paso concreto?

Es ./wlan0up y debes ejecutarlo dentro de la carpeta rtl8187L_linux_1041.0209.2012. Ese script inserta los módulos y levanta la interfaz wlan0, si tu interfaz es otra modifica la linea que dice "ifconfig wlan0 up"

Cuando tiro el comando lspci para ver los módulos me sale esto:

Me parece que tengo que desmontar el módulo, pero no sé si bastará con hacer un simple rmmod rtl8187 o hará falta hacer algo más.

Haz lo siguiente:

1 Desconecta el adaptador (tengo entendido que es USB), si no está conectado omite este paso.
2 Abre una terminal y limpia el buffer de los mensajes del kernel:

sudo dmesg -c

saldrá una lista larga de texto que no interesa en este caso.
3 conecta el adaptador, espera unos segundos y ejecuta el comando:

dmesg

y pega acá el texto que arrojó la terminal después de este comando.

PD: Con el adaptador conectado ejecuta el comando lsusb y pega acá el resultado.

A todo esto, no sé si al haber instalado el driver y haber reiniciado ya se sustituyó sólo el módulo nativo del kernel por el del driver o si todavía hay que hacerlo.

No me he atrevido a aplicar las instrucciones de las distuntas guías por un motivo: en unas dice que hay que hacerlo antes de instalar el paquete, en otras dice que despiés, y "pa" colmo el comando cambia de unas guías a otras.

A todo esto, no sé si al haber instalado el driver y haber reiniciado ya se sustituyó sólo el módulo nativo del kernel por el del driver o si todavía hay que hacerlo.

No me he atrevido a aplicar las instrucciones de las distuntas guías por un motivo: en unas dice que hay que hacerlo antes de instalar el paquete, en otras dice que despiés, y "pa" colmo el comando cambia de unas guías a otras.

No era necesario todo el texto que pusiste (el del comando sudo dmesg -c), aunque sirvió para ver que tienes otra tarjeta de red y por ello es que tienes las interfaces wlan0 y wlan1, que el driver que se carga es el que has compilado, ahora falta ver por que es inestable ¿qué tan lejos estás del router?.

El ruter esta cerca.

Con la tarjeta interna se conecta al momento, y eso que da poca señal

En cambio con la antena no se conecta, habiendo el doble de señal.

Por eso digo, que el problema no es la señal, es la configuración.

Puede que no se haya reemplazado el módulo del kernel por el instalado el en driver, porque la verdad es que el sudo rmmod que viene en la guía del primer post no lo he hecho porque es aguía es antigua y en distintoas guías leo modificaciones de ese paso.

Tampoco sé si a lo mejor el módulo se ha reemplazdo por reniciar.

O si sigue sin reemplazar.

Es que esto es importante saberlo, pero no sé cómo averiguarlo.
