Hola muy buenas

Instale ubuntu en el portatil de mi suegra (compaq presario CQ57) como so único y funciono de maravilla. Tiene un boton de activación de la antena wifi, que en windows si estaba configurado, con ubuntu no respondia.

El caso es que ahora la lucecita del dichoso boton (f12) se ha puesto roja, despues de funcionar perfectamente, y la antena wifi se ha desconectado.
El boton no responde, por configuración de red me aparece el modo avión siempre conectado y, claro la red inalambrica no disponible.

No se como se desactivo el wifi -supongo una desafortunada combinación de teclas- pero el caso es que no se activarlo.

he visto post parecidos, pero las soluciones dadas no me funcionan.
Alguien me puede hechar una mano?

ayer por la tarde instale el so y todo de maravilla, instale las actualizaciones un poco mas tarde, reinicie y cuando volvio a encenderse el pc mi boton de wifi estaba en rojo, y no responde, asi que no me puedo conectar a internet. Supongo que tenemos el mismo problema por eso lo pongo en el mismo hilo, a los que respondan muchas gracias por su ayuda

abran una terminal y peguen aqui el contenido de;

lspci
iwconfig
lsmod
sudo lshw -C network
iwlist scan

ojo, cada una de esas lineas tiene que ser corrida por separado en la terminal, y pegado aqui.

veo unos problema, que los controladores que estan cargados son para una tarjeta diferente;

vamos a intentar desbloquearlo sin tocar la configuración;
revisa si tu teclado tiene algún interruptor para activar manualmente la wifi
ó si con combinación de teclas activas la wifi ejemplo; fn+f11

si nada de eso funciona;
en la terminal

sudo modprobe -rv rt2800sta
sudo modprobe rt5390sta
rfkill list all

mira que hardbloked y softblocked dice "no"
si eso no funciona;

gksudo gedit /etc/Wireless/RT5390STA/RT5390STA.dat
busca una linea que dice Wireless Mode
cambia el valor que tenga a "0"
