Error (vala-1.0) al compilar Cairo Composite Manager (cairo-compmgr) en Xubuntu 12.04

Saludos y sin mas paso al problema.
Resulta que al compilar cairo-compmgr, la consola me devuelve el siguiente error, ya he estado buscando en internet pero no he encontrado nada que pueda ayudarme, algunos hablan de enlaces simbolicos y otros de editar algun "PATH" o algo por el estilo, pero como estan en otros idiomas no termino de entender del todo.

Ya he buscado desde synaptic el paquete "vala-1.0" pero no lo encuentro, en vez de eso se encuentran otros paquetes como "vala-0.10, vala-0.12, etc" pero ni aun instalandolos he podido resolver el problema, tambien he tratado con el paquete "valac" pero tampoco.
Menciono ademas que uso Xubuntu 12.04 y XFCE 4.10. De antemano gracias por su ayuda.
