Pega el este contenido de tu sources.list es el valido para Chile pero te peude funcionar si el problema es el archivo.
ejecuta en un terminal
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Ctrl+o guradas Ctrl+x sales
luego ejecuta
sudo apt-get update
# contenido /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://cl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted
deb-src http://cl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted
## Major bug fix updates produced after the final release of the
