socorro!!! me he cargado GNOME

Hola, soy nuevo en esto de Ubuntu (linux) y tengo un grave problema, he intentado instalar las librerias de aceleración gráfica de escritorio y cuando he reiniciado me dice el sistema q Gnome está descofigurado, no se como volver a la configuración anterior de gnome o en todo caso volverlo a reintalar

Para reinstalarlo pon

sudo apt-get install gnome-desktop

hola he seguido tus instrucciones y he reinstalado gnome y al iniciar me dice q el servidor X está desconfigurado (usr/X11/X , archivo erroneo, hay alguna manera de volverlo a reinstalar como el Gnome??

presiona ctrl + alt + F1 cuando estes en esa ventana donde salga el error... despues logeate... y usa este comando...

$sudo cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf > xorg.txt

luego reinicia el pc con

$sudo reboot

despues ingresa a window u otro sistema operativo que uses... busca e instala este programilla Ext2IFS_1_10b.exe, que te permitira reconocer la particion de ubuntu con todos sus datos... luego selecciona la particion donde esta ubuntu y vete a /home/"tuusuario"/, busca xorg.txt y pega todo su contenido en el foro para ver cual es el error ;)

Gracias adelantadas por vuestra ayuda a un neofito, la verdad sq asi da gusto pasarse a Linux. Por cierto tambien he mirado el archivo "x" y está vacio, puede ser eso fuente del error??

Si el problema está en xorg.conf tal vez se solucione con

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
