No me arranca Ubuntu

Hola, pues que ya no quiere arrancar. Llega a pedir el nombre de usuario y contraseña y después, sale el cursor de la flecha y ahí se queda...

Por si aporta algo, en la lista de tareas anterior al login dice a todas OK, salvo Starting PCMCIA services que no dice nada (ni ok ni error)

Lo último que hice antes de apagar:

- Hacer apt-get distr upgrade

- Desintalar con el Synaptics los paquetes Automatix2 porque había dejado de funcionar (no encontraba todas la keys)

- y desinstalar (tb con Synaptics) el firefox 1.5 y todos sus librerías y cosas que tenían que ver con firefox. El motivo: había instalado el firefox 2.0 pero el gestor de actualizaciones no hacía más que sacarme actualizaciones del 1.5, y ya por 2 veces me volvía a aparecer al 1.5 (p.ej con el upgrade), así que mi intención era eliminarlo por completo e instalar el 2.0 de nuevas, pero....

... no volvió a arrancar

Ayuda por favor!!!!

Hola, si no te levanta la interfaz grafica, o no puedes loguearte, puedes intentarlo de la consola de texto.

1 forma) con ctl+alt+f1 puedes irte a la consola nº1, luego te logueas con tu usuario o con root.
2 forma) lo levantas en el modo single-user. En el grub (cuando elijes el SO) telceas la letra "e" de edit, luego al final de la linea donde se encuentra la imagen a bootear pones la palabra "single" y le das , luego presionas "b" para bootear. Esto te levantara la PC en single user.

Una vez logueado en modo texto, puedes ver los mensajes en el /var/log/messages y tener un poco mas de idea de lo que le puede pasar a tu maquina. Quizas ahi te salte algun log que te de mas pistas, y puedas directamente solucionarlo.

No se porqué has quitado el firefox 1.5, vuélvelo a instalar desde tu pantalla de terminal:

$sudo apt-get install firefox firefox-gnome-support

Ahora reinicia el ordenador y cruza los dedos de que haya sido eso lo que haya provocado el no tener X

Lo desinstalé porque yo usaba el 2.0 y cuando actualizaba o hacía dist-upgrade me salía una y otra vez el 1.5, así que me cansé y los quise quitar para instalar el 2.0 de nuevas, pero algo fué mal...

Pues instalé de nuevo el firefox 1.5 y no se arregló. He podido acceder al /var/log/messages

Veo muchos mensajes pero no me dicen nada. No pego aquí el contenido porque no se si estaría aportando información que no debería, pero si me decís que no hay peligro y queréis echar un vistazo, pego todo el log del arranque....

Lo más parecido a un error que veo es esto: Cannot allocate resource for EISA slot 1

Y los últimos mensajes son...

  • Se resolvió la dirección «xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory» a una fuente de configuración de sólo lectura en la posición 0

La verdad que esos logs no me dicen mucho tampoco... mejor pone el messages completo.

y el otro log que podes mirar es el /var/log/Xorgs.0.log o XFree86.0.log no recuerdo ahora cual era en Ubuntu.

El Xorg.0.log creo que te esta diciendo lo que ocurre. Yo creo que es problema de configuraciòn del mouse. Yo he tenido varias peleas con la interfaz grafica con otras distros y te juro que le he buscado la vuelta y era el puto mouse.

Por lo que dice el log, esta referenciando a una direcciòn que no existe que es /dev/wacom, yo te recomiendo que pruebes de reconfigurar el mouse.

Pues igual tienes razón, pero el WACOM no es el mouse, es una tableta de esas con lápiz. Además, cuando se queda como muerto sin arrancar, puedo ver el cursor de la flecha y moverlo con el ratón

Bueno, pues muchas gracias, cuando vaya teniendo tiempo me meteré a como configurar la tabletita, a ver si no me hace sufrir mucho

Yo tengo el mismo problema actualice algunas cosas con el synaptic y me quede sin grafica, me logeo y todo y despues me queda el cursor solo del mouse no termina de ingresar, ayudaaaaa plaseee!!!!

Querido colega encontre la solucion, casi de casualidad.
Ingrese en modo texto al programa aptitude y desde alli reinstale el gnome. Si no lo conoces es muy similar al synaptic pero en modo texto.
Reinicie y FUNCIONO!!!!

Ok, solucionado al reinstalar Gnome: apt-get install gnome

Aunque de nuevo tengo mi Firefox 1.5 en inglés al menos tengo el equipo entero y funcionando...
