error en vmware-player y en vmware-server

buneo me acabo de registrar en el foro pero soy ya habia entrado... el problema es el siguiente

desinstaleen en feisty fawn el vmware-player por que pense que no lo iva a utilizar pero bueno nesesito usarlo ahora :s

 la cosa es que cuando lo vuelvo a instalar me sale lo siguiente:

entonses voy a  Aplicaciones-->System Tools-->vmware-player le doy click y no pasa nada. lo habro por terminal y me sale lo siguiente:

 vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following command:
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl

 

ok pongo  /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl  y me dice que /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl: command not found

ahora instalo vmware-server y me dice lo siguiente:

 no se que hacer ? sii alguien sabe cual es el problema  o en que me equivoque se lo agradeceria.

Con respecto al VmWare que es execelente por cierto, creo que tu problema pasa por un error de configuracion del adaptador de red, ya que ami me dio algunos errores similares, por esto mismo.

Este fallo también es típico cuando se actualiza el kernel, no sé si habrás tenido una actualización de éste después de haberlo instalado.

Cuando se debe a esto, se soluciona fácilmente desinstalando y volviendo a instalar:

como root y desde /opt/vmware-player-distrib/bin (si no está en /opt, pues desde donde lo tengas)

./vmware-uninstall.pl

luego desde /opt/vmware-player-distrib

./vmware-install.pl

Y ya te lo compila para tu nuevo kernel.
